This wonderful classic book needed a cover update, so with furnished photos from the art director and sumi brushes in hand, I created the asian calligraphy symbols and watercolor washes for the background, then blended those elements with the provided photographs, layering in asian imagery to reflect the sense of history that spanned three generations. Wild Swans by Jung Chang has been published internationally since the update, and continues to be a classic novel enjoyed by millions of readers.
